Fynn Heide studies technical AI progress and AI policy in the People’s Republic of China. He currently focuses on advances at the country’s frontier AI research institutions, their emerging approaches to AI safety, and their relationships with the Chinese Party-State. He previously researched Chinese data and technology policy at Sinolytics, Trivium China, and the Mercator Institute for China Studies, and holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Warwick.
