Alex's research at GovAI focuses on the intersection of AI and the law. Prior to joining GovAI, Alex spent four and a half years at the heart of the UK government's work on AI policy. She focused on regulation of AI and, more recently, private sector adoption. Her team produced the AI Regulation White Paper in March 2023, and was responsible for the policy aspects of the AI Safety Summits at Bletchley and Seoul. Prior to joining government, Alex spent fifteen years as a lawyer, advising businesses (from major global corporates to AI start-ups) on digital and data related regulation.
