Ed researches frontier AI risk management, with a focus on the tools needed to govern the pace of frontier AI development. Before joining GovAI, he served as Strategy and Special Projects Lead at the UK AI Security Institute and as Partnerships Lead in the UK’s Sovereign AI Unit. Prior to joining the UK government, he was a Senior Strategy and Partnerships Manager at Uber and an adviser at New Zealand’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations. He holds an MPhil in Public Policy from the University of Cambridge, as well as an LLB (Hons) and BA in Economics from the University of Auckland.
