Karthik's research focuses on the economic effects of transformative AI. He is interested in designing economic evaluations for AI models, and in understanding how AI will affect economic growth in developing countries. He also writes a Substack about AI and economic growth. He holds a PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley, and grew up in Bangalore, India.
