Michael is a Research Manager on the Talent Development Team that runs GovAI's UK Seasonal Fellowships. He was a Winter Fellow himself earlier in 2026, working on the political consequences of AI-driven labour market disruption in the UK, and a SPAR Research Fellow in 2025. Before moving into AI governance, Michael spent a decade as a political philosopher, most recently as a Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University; his research focused on the relationship between capitalism and democracy. He holds a PhD in Politics from the University of York.
