Verena co-leads the UK Seasonal Fellowships at GovAI, where she has helped build the talent function that develops fellows during their time at GovAI and sustains them beyond it.
She specialises in accelerating the translation of breakthrough AI research into real-world impact through strategic partnerships and safety frameworks, bringing technical expertise in AI research and proven experience bridging research institutions with enterprise adoption. Previously, she guided innovation strategy at an industrial R&D lab, founded an AI startup, and worked across the healthcare, automotive, and aerospace sectors. She holds an MBA from Collège des Ingénieurs, an M.Sc. in Computer Science from KIT (master's thesis at ETH Zurich), and a B.Sc. in Cognitive Science from the University of Tübingen.
In her role, she has established the career support function, the infrastructure behind each fellowship cohort, and the alumni community, and helped launch the Applied Track that connects fellows to organisations able to deploy them.
